Hunter HiteCrossFit Level 1 Trainer
He’s a miniature AC Slater of the 21st century. He’s got more shoes than most women do. He is 50% of our “Liberty Boys Duo” and it’s been great to invest in this kid and watch him grow and evolve as a coach. Coach Hunter is fun-loving, focused, and always willing to learn and try new things. We have high hopes for this guy’s future at Big Lick!
Who am I?
CrossFit Level 1 Trainer
What’s my fitness story?
In high school I played lacrosse, baseball, cross country, and basketball. After I tore both of my ACLs on the court, I decided that I needed to find some kind of training program to keep me healthy. My mom recommended CrossFit, and I immediately fell in love with it! CrossFit is more fun to me than any other sport that I’ve played.
It was fate—what brought me to Big Lick CrossFit?
My friend, Brian, and I were looking at the local boxes that we could potentially begin our CrossFit journey at. In order to find the perfect fit for us, we did a couple workouts with each gym that we visited and decided that Big Lick CrossFit was the best match for us. Soon after, we both took the Level 1 course to become coaches and join in on all the fun!
When/Where can you find me at BLCF?
I typically coach the 8:15AM and 9:30AM classes in the mornings during the week, and work out in one of the evening classes. I love coaching the morning classes, because I am constantly being poured into by the amazing people in my classes with great life advice and so much love!
Inspiration—What drives me to be a better coach:
Seeing the passion that all of the coaches at our gym have about being better students, better teachers, and better athletes drives me to have the same passion and commitment to do what we do.
Memory bank—My most rewarding moment as a BLCF coach:
My most rewarding moment as a coach is when an athlete came up to me at the end of class and asked if we could pray as a group for one of his family members that was going through a very difficult time. My favorite part about Big Lick CrossFit is that we are a family. We trust each other with things we need help with and we aren’t afraid to reach out to coaches and other athletes for prayer and some awesome encouragement. All the coaches at our gym truly care for every athlete that walks in that door.
I’ve got dreams, too—My personal goals in fitness and in life are:
I’m a smaller guy, so one of my biggest goals is to be stronger with all the weightlifting that we do here. Also, I am always striving to be a better coach every day.
Step into my world—What you can find me doing when I am not at the box:
When I’m not working out or coaching, I am studying. I am currently studying exercise science at Liberty University and I hoping to become a Physical Therapist through my studies. Besides school and CrossFit, I don’t do a whole lot of extra hobbies. I’m a pretty simple guy, the simpler the better…I always say.
Because I’m awesome—My Superhero Identity:
I would be “SuperSHOESMan”. This is probably an identity that my fellow coaches and atheltes would give me vs. coming up with myself. I have a weird obsession with CrossFit shoes.. any kind of shoe. Any brand, any style, any color, I have a huge collection and as my love for CrossFit grows, so does my collection.
Shhh, don’t tell anyone! Something that no one else knows about me:
Most people don’t know that I did gymnastics as a kid. I didn’t do gymnastics very long, but looking back I wish I would’ve stayed with it.
