Swagger Summary:

This guy is a true professional and keeps us all organized and on task. He serves as his wife Traci’s arm candy, and without his business savvy, Big Lick CrossFit simply wouldn’t exist. Some may mistake him for John Stamos, but we are proud to call him ours. His dedication and love for the Big Lick CrossFit movement has kept our gym running smoothly since its inception in late 2013.  As a coach, he is obsessive about helping athletes develop proper movement patterns while building strength & increasing cardio respiratory capacity.

Who am I?
Owner of Big Lick CrossFit
Street Cred:
CrossFit Level 2 Trainer, USA Weightlifting Sports Performance Coach
What’s my fitness story?
When I was young I played the “Big 3” sports: Baseball, Basketball, and Football. As an adult, I’ve always had an interest in exercise & health, from my time in the US Navy where I did high intensity workouts in the hanger bay of the USS Forrestal with the EOD crew, to my days of running 5ks, 10ks, and half marathons. When I discovered CrossFit back in 2008, I quickly became hooked.
When/Where can you find me at BLCF?
You can find me at Big Lick mainly in the evenings and some mornings, depending on my work and family’s schedule. BLCF has become my third place.
Inspiration—What drives me to be a better coach:
It’s a blast watching our athletes grow. I’m always searching for ways to better cue, motivate, and drive my athletes to accomplish great things. Being a good coach doesn’t mean that you know everything. In fact, good coaches make it their mission to continue the learning process and continue to refine themselves. That’s exactly what I strive to do.
Memory bank—My most rewarding moment as a BLCF coach:
Every day is a reward. There are too many to pick just one. Our athletes successes both inside and out of the gym have rewarded us in ways we couldn’t even fathom when we began to build this gym.
I’ve got dreams, too—My personal goals in fitness and in life are:
As a Masters athlete, my personal goals are centered around longevity and continuing to make my health and fitness a priority. My goal is to be able to continue to CrossFit for the next 15 plus years.
Step into my world—What you can find me doing when I am not at the box:
I like spending time with the three ladies in my life: my beautiful wife & fellow CrossFit coach, Traci, and my two awesome teenage daughters, Olivia and Ella. By day, I am a mild-mannered sales professional with over 20 years in the animal health industry.
Shhh, don’t tell anyone! Something that no one else knows about me:
I was voted most talented in my junior high school for break dancing.
