Chance CampbellCrossFit Level 1 Trainer
One-half of the duo that sparked the “Big Lick Baby Boom”, Chance Campbell was sought after to join our coaching staff shortly after meeting him. His kind heart, life skills (hello, Firefighter/BAMF), and dad-qualities, not to mention his stellar CrossFit skills, have given us added value to our coaching staff.

What’s my fitness story?
Growing up I played baseball and football. I always seemed to stay active whether it be from hunting, hiking, or just about anything competitive. I remained active after graduating high school where I joined several local gyms.
It was fate—what brought me to Big Lick CrossFit?
My wife and I became interested in CrossFit after hearing how much fun it was through some friends. We both were interested in a new fitness challenge. We then joined our first CrossFit gym in April 2013 (Big Lick was not open at this point). And initially, convenience brought me to BLCF with the gym being less than 5 minutes from my house. The atmosphere and community is what continues to keep me here.
When/Where can you find me at BLCF?
You can find me coaching a variety of classes due to my unique work schedule. I regularly coach MLC® (8:15AM), Cougars® (9:30AM), Swole Patrol® (4:30PM), and Dream Team® (5:30PM). When I’m not coaching the evening classes, you can find me pushing through an awesome workout with Swole Patrol® or the Dream Team®. Otherwise, I tend to squeeze a workout in during the middle of the day with my son/assistant coach, Colby.
Inspiration—What drives me to be a better coach:
Big Lick has a great coaching staff. With that being said, I strive to be equally as good as the other coaches.
Memory bank—My most rewarding moment as a BLCF coach:
I honestly can’t pick just one great moment at BLCF. I do know that I walk into BLCF every day expecting great things. When I leave I can honestly say I’m never disappointed.
I’ve got dreams, too—My personal goals in fitness and in life are:
The number one cause for Firefighter Line of Duty Deaths is cardiac arrest. Being a Firefighter/Paramedic, I know the importance of living a healthy lifestyle. So, my number one fitness goal is to not become a statistic. Some of my personal goals include being a better Christian, Father, Husband, and all around person.
Step into my world—What you can find me doing when I am not at the box:
When I’m not CrossFitting, there is no telling where you can find me. Most likely, you can find me at work helping others in their time of need. If I’m not at work, you can find me hanging out with my toddler son, Colby. Colby really enjoys our new hobby: Frisbee golf. I also enjoy playing softball, golf, hunting, the occasional video game, hiking, or just spending time in the great outdoors.
Because I’m awesome—My Superhero Identity:
I would be “BatDAD”. A majority of the time, you can’t find me coaching without Colby by my side. He even gives cues when someone needs help. Unfortunately, our athletes don’t speak infant, however I feel like they are starting to catch on.
Shhh, don’t tell anyone! Something that no one else knows about me:
I have a hard time being on time for anything other than work and CrossFit. My friends often joke it’s a genetic thing. I just say it’s because I’m married.
